Through MyPocketSkill, I have been able to acquire £1000 in only 4 months, but the money is just a drop in the ocean in considering what else the platform has provided me with. I have gained a wealth of knowledge regarding the importance of saving money, and how to budget, in order to make my finances go further. Along with my growing financial knowledge, I have massively grown in confidence through using the platform and have developed a real sense of professionalism by conversing with both clients and the MyPocketSkill team.
MyPocketSkill has been amazing in helping to develop my financial skills in order to save money to put aside for future ambitions. It has also helped me to enhance my planning skills (as a tutor and social media manager) and manage my time efficiently. Furthermore, It has given me a wide range of things I can put on my CV, to extend my range of employability skills and helped me to develop my passions into something professional. It has encouraged me to think about spending before I do so and be less reckless with it. So much so, that I have managed to save enough money (and a lot extra for future ambitions) to be able to travel and see my friend in Holland.
On MyPocketskill I have had the amazing opportunity to work with a variety of individuals and small businesses, helping with their Social media. This includes MyPocketSkill themselves, as I have been a brand ambassador for them. This has given me the chance to develop my professional and marketing skills, but most importantly my communication skills. In around 2 months I have earned over £400, this is a large amount of money to me, as I wouldn’t have otherwise earned anything in the spare time I had. With earning comes saving, and MyPocketSkill has encouraged this through the financial goals feature on their website.
I am fast approaching my 1 year anniversary of being a part of the MyPocketSkill community. After signing up I booked on to my onboarding call with Clova who was immediately warm and welcoming. She discussed what I wanted to do on the platform, to which I responded tutoring. Just a few months later Zara and her amazing team recommended me to a Social Media listing. I worked very successfully in this role for almost 6 months, during this time I took on other clients and performed various other admin tasks. I have gained so much knowledge and experience through my time here and I look forward to continuing this.
MyPocketSkill has helped me to start earning money as a young person. In addition to helping me strive for financial independence, it has also allowed me to identify the skills I have to offer as a young person. I have gained work experience by taking on different responsibilities. I have also had the chance to work as an ambassador for MyPocketSkill, spreading the word through social media and in person. Through MyPocketSkill, I have also learned that patience and communication go a long way, whether that is in tutoring someone or deciding your availability for your lessons or client calls.
