In a world where the future of work is being dramatically transformed by AI, MyPocketSkill has unveiled PocketAI. PocketAI is an AI-powered Assistant helping young people succeed once they’ve been booked on MyPocketSkill’s platform, delivering better, faster outcomes. Unlike generic AI tools, PocketAI offers contextual, task-specific guidance based on real-time interactions between young freelancers and their clients via MyPocketSkill. The result? Young people develop in-demand skills and confidence, and SMEs receive reliable, high-quality work delivered on schedule.
Whether it’s designing a website, managing social media, writing blog content or even building an AI-chatbot, young people using PocketAI receive smart support such as personalised to-do lists, project timelines, creative prompts and curated learning resources. Everything is generated from actual conversations and briefs exchanged with clients, ensuring relevance and practicality. In return, the SME working with a young freelancer will see faster turnarounds, creative concepts more aligned with their brand, and greater consistency, all thanks to PocketAI’s support.
Boosting Gen Z and bridging the skills gap
“For young people, PocketAI is like having a smart mentor by their side—someone who helps them stay on track, share creative ideas, and upskill on the job,” said Zara Ransley, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of MyPocketSkill. “It’s a huge confidence booster and makes real work feel achievable and rewarding.”
“From a business perspective, PocketAI helps to bridge the skills gap - making it easier and more reliable to work with young freelancers,” added Matthew Harker, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of MyPocketSkill. “We’re unlocking a powerful new way to get tasks done efficiently, while giving SMEs more confidence to invest in the next generation of talent.”
“As a digital marketing freelancer, this is a really positive way of working with AI - it’s like having a mentor alongside you helping you kick start and guide you along the way. I’m really looking forward to using the customised project plans it creates that take into account my study time, so I can get a realistic timeline for my projects.” said Ada-Leena, a 19 year old student who freelances as a social media manager at MyPocketSkill.
“As a freelance photographer, I particularly liked the accurate shot list PocketAI created for me - this would be really useful for someone trying out a new style of photography for the first time,” said Daniel, 19 freelancer photographer and content creator “as well as the learning guides about editing and meeting client expectations.“
Shaping the future of learning and work for young people
The development of PocketAI is supported by funding from Ufi VocTech Trust’s £947k Activate grant fund 2024, aimed at tackling real-world barriers to learning as well as funding from Innovate UK’s £32m Technologies Mission Fund, for innovation projects that can improve productivity in key sectors through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This initiative builds on MyPocketSkill’s mission to help young people earn, save, and learn by connecting them with paid, meaningful work. PocketAI is part of the platform’s wider strategy to embed AI tools that promote self-reliance, skill development, financial education and employability.
