Hello! My name is Amy Logan and I am a 21-year-old flute and piccolo teacher from Scotland. I am currently a student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where I am developing both my performance skills and my musical versatility.  Alongside my studies, I work as a swimming teacher and lifeguard, as well as a flute teacher, roles which have strengthened my sense of responsibility, communication skills and ability to support people in achieving their goals. I am passionate about fostering both confidence and strong technique in my students, creating a positive learning environment tailored to each individual.  Outside of music, I foster dogs and have a strong interest in sports and musical theatre. Ultimately, I aspire to become an actor-musician! I believe a student learns best when they are encouraged and motivated so my techniques are always about creating a positive environment and inspiring students to succeed and fulfil their full potential whether that is playing their favourite songs, completing an exam or focusing on technique and music theory. My teaching methodology is very structured and sequential so we are always revising knowledge and building at the speed that is suitable to the student. My teaching is also goal based, thinking about long term and short term milestones and reinforcing the positivity with every goal achieved. My methodology is a mix between the Carl Orff method and the Kodály method, this means I teach through the main focus of being creative as it's so important to learn that as a skill. I focus on singing and clapping as a way of learning and understanding music, rhythms, phrases, pitch, patterns, tempo and dynamics as it helps to include your body in the musical experience as well as your instrument. I can teach in many ways for example aurally, visually and kinaesthetically. My method focuses on enjoyment and being collaborative and creating an enjoyable and meaningful experience for all. Lessons can be from 30 minutes minimum to 1hr 15 maximum I have a lot of experience in teaching through university as I have studied a teaching module for two years which discusses the methodology behind teaching, the psychology of teaching and I have received training and experience within the community, university and a few 1-1 students!  I am also a STA swimming teacher/STA Disability swimming teacher for kids from the age of 3 up until 100! My lessons are for anyone as young as 7 up until the age of 100! These lessons are for anyone of any ability who has an interest in flute and piccolo and wants to share their wonderful musical passion with me!

Hi! I'm Skye, a music student starting my degree in music production, and I provide 1-1 guitar lessons. Having played the guitar for almost 14 years, I have developed a wide range of musical abilities on the acoustic and electric guitar, with my specialisms being in acoustic guitar and fingerpicking. Since 2022, I have taught hundreds of lessons to students as young as four, to adults with years of experience, both remotely and face-to-face. Lessons are tailored to each student, ensuring each student chooses the music they would like to learn, at an appropriate level for their individual skill level. This means my lessons are taken at the pace of each individual student's ability, keeping lessons fun and engaging for everybody. Lots of my students have additional learning needs, such as ADHD and/or autism, or experience neurodiversity in another way, often requiring a different approach to their lesson, depending on the needs of the student. This is over many different aspects, ranging anywhere from taking structured breaks over the duration of the lesson to aid in attention span, all the way to adding coloured overlays to tab sheets to support those with conditions like dyslexia. All of this means that students still receive high-quality tutoring, working with them to support any additional challenges they may experience when learning. This makes my lessons accessible to everybody, as they can be confident that they are entering a supportive environment, focused on them enjoying their learning experience. I have multiple years experience playing live in bands and duets, and have performed at multiple live music venues, with some examples including multiple stages at the Roadmender Northampton, and the Northampton Music Festival. If you are interested in booking lessons with me, or have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out, and I will respond as soon as possible. Hope to hear from you soon! Skye :)
